Jeffrey M. King | Economic Development Manager | City of Forest Grove

Hailing from a family equipped with elected officials, or those in government, Jeffrey M. King held an aptitude for politics since his formative years. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in political science and government from the University of New Hampshire, which he planned to utilize to improve the quality of life of communities, counties and cities. At the start of his professional career, Mr. King served as the executive director of the Columbia-Pacific Economic Development District of Oregon from 1996 to 2002 and as the economic development coordinator for the city of Milwaukie, Oregon from 2002 to 2005.

Today, Mr. King excels as the economic development manager for the City of Forest Grove, a role he commenced in 2005. In his position, he manages the entire economic development program for the city, which includes maintaining programs, conducting economic development marketing and administering individual projects in order to assist local businesses. To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. King maintains his professional affiliation with the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the Lions Club and Toastmasters International. Attributing his success to remaining persistent, he also credits his strength for analysis, strategic approach and going the extra mile. Looking ahead, Mr. King aims to continue contributing positively to his field while also easing into a well-deserved retirement
